Visitors will have the chance to vote on their favorite giant Christmas cards created by local elementary, middle and high school classes. The Christmas Cards to the Community program was established 25 years ago to create a unique opportunity to highlight the talents of local students.

Back on Oct. 3, Shreveport police patrol officers responded to the 1200 block of Travis Street relative to reports a man had been shot there. As officers arrived at the scene, it was soon learned the victim, 17-year-old Bobby Evans, was deceased, suffering what appeared to be an apparent gunshot wound.

Detectives with the BCPD’s Property Crimes Unit arrested 17-year old Andrew Bayles and a 16-year old male, both of Bossier City, for simple burglary, aggravated burglary and resisting arrest. Both were taken into custody after officers responded to a call Tuesday at ap proximately 1 p.
