Upon arrival, patrolmen learned 23-year-old Antwon Scott had been shot once in the upper body, while walking in the area of McArthur Drive and East 70th Street. Scott was transported in a private automobile to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Once the evidence of foul play was discovered, Homer Police Chief Russell Mills contacted Louisiana State Police Detectives for assistance and set up a perimeter. Upon arrival, LSP detectives continued to find more evidence indicating foul play.

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington is asking for the public’s help in finding the persons who stole weapons, power tools and other items worth more than $20,000 during a burglary at a residence on Cottage Grove Road just north of the town of Benton late November.

It all started when Bossier City patrol officers responded to the Walmart in the 2500 block of Airline Drive in reference to two men, identified as Jedediah John Sanchez, 38, of Thibodeaux, and Sherman Wilburn Sullivan, 33, of Pleasant Hill, who were caught shoplifting by store security.

Jessie Nelson-Collins, 67, of the 400 block of West 75th Street, was employed by the victim for over 10 years. For nearly four of those years, she used her position to steal blank checks from the victim’s home and later cashed them without his knowledge or consent.
