“Darge” has performed services in nearly every parish of the state, focusing most of his attention in Southeast Louisiana where he is familiar to most law enforcement and fire officials. “Darge” will be officially removed from service, effective December 01, 2014, after having been utilized across this state for more than a decade.

Under the developing plan, retirees from the four state retirement systems — Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System, Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana, Louisiana School Employees’ Retirement System, and Louisiana State Police Retirement System — will receive an additional $50 per month for a period of 12 months, beginning in July.

According to evidence presented at the May 16 guilty plea, Smith conspired with others from 2010 to 2013 to distribute and possess powder cocaine and methamphetamine in Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish, Vernon Parish and Houston, Texas. Authorities recorded Smith selling another man one pound of methamphetamine.

On Nov. 4, Louisiana's voters will be presented with Constitutional Amendment 8 to establish the Artificial Reef Development Fund (Fund) in the state constitution. Louisiana Wildlife Federation (LWF) is in support of this amendment to strengthen protection of the funds donated for use in Louisiana's Artificial Reef Program.
