Just after 5:30 a.m. March 2, Shreveport Police officers were called to the Texaco station located in the 5900 block of Youree Drive relative to a business burglary. When officers arrived on scene, it was apparent the burglars used a vehicle to ram the front doors of the store.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley stated: “While I do not believe that the jury’s guilty verdict in this case was the result of any misconduct, I believe that it is important that the public have confidence in the integrity of the prosecutions brought by the United States.
“I am pleased to host fellow sheriffs here in Bossier Parish so that we can meet to discuss a number of issues affecting law enforcement and our state,” said Sheriff Whittington. “Northwest Louisiana also has a lot to offer, and I am excited to showcase our wonderful area and its great people.
The accolades do not end there, either. Kendal Fowler, a student at Benton Elementary, was deemed the Top Female State Champion, accruing 271 points. Just one point separated her from runner-up Kayla Lynch, who also attends Benton Elementary, for the title of top female archer.
