Based on video evidence secured in another Shreveport business burglary, authorities were able to determine the suspect in the aforementioned burglaries was 38-year-old Morris Edwards of Shreveport. Edwards, no stranger to repeat run-ins with the law, has been arrested at least 25 times, with six of those arrests for burglaries.

The team of volunteers will trade in their gun belts and uniforms for trash bags, gloves and trash pick-up sticks as they participate in the “Great American Cleanup 2017.” They will meet Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Viking Drive Substation and then head out to various areas in the city that have accumulated trash and then clean it up.

What started out as an investigation into recent armed robberies has resulted in multiple arrests and solved a few unrelated criminal cases as well. So far, 12 people, including three juveniles, have been booked on a variety of charges including armed robbery, auto theft, narcotics and obstruction of justice, among others.

As officers arrived at the scene, they were met by Shreveport Fire Department medics, who were frantically working to save the life of 24-year-old Charzavious Rogers, who was suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Despite valiant efforts, Rogers died upon his arrival at University Health hospital.

Catherine Cloud Owens, 45, was employed by a local construction company in its Accounts Payable office. She is accused of duplicating 65 company checks sent to their vendors, creating fraudulent copies of the checks, and making them payable to herself.

Back on Feb. 17 at approximately 7:20 p.m., surveillance video captured at the North Market Street location of the Raceway gas station, the driver of the suspect vehicle, a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer, left the scene of a hitand-run accident after hitting a parked car.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2000 Toyota Camry operated by 18-year-old Katie Bell of Benton was traveling south on LA 3 when, for reasons still under investigation, she lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median and collided head -on with a 2002 Hyundai Accent operated by 68- year-old Roger Erickson of Plain Dealing.

The stolen cargo trailer is black in color, has an unknown Texas license plate, and has a vent pipe on the top in the front part, which is used for a welder in the trailer. An air compressor and miscellaneous tools inside the trailer were also stolen..
