The Bossier City Police Department conducted a safety checkpoint at the intersection of Old Minden Road and John Wesley Boulevard last Thursday, May 21, as part of the department’s participation in the Click It or Ticket campaign sponsored by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday, Shreveport police patrol officers were dispatched to a home located in the 900 block of Ascalon Street after a man was discovered shot inside the residence. When officers arrived on the scene, it was learned the victim, 52-year-old Alphonso Lawrence, was suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Officer Sandy Eubanks of the Benbrook, Texas, Police Department said, “Our officers were called to a residence here in Benbrook on Monday afternoon.
