The Bossier Sheriff’s Office welcomed twenty-nine recruits for the Young Marines program Monday. The new recruits in class 34 began nearly three weeks of training and are scheduled to graduate on Thursday, June 30 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bossier Sheriff’s Substation, 2510 Viking Dr.

Reserves are volunteer deputies. This level reserve deputy receives a minimum of 100 hours of POST training in areas such as firearms proficiency, defensive tactics, first aid, and Louisiana law. The Reserve Academy will be held two nights each week and on Saturdays for eight weeks.
