The free festival will kick-off with a Bass fishing tournament on Caddo Lake at 6:30 a.m. and weigh-in at 3 p.m. The archery shootout is 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the car and motorcycle show is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Live entertainment will begin at 10 a.m., and the headliner entertainer is FOX’s “The X-Factor” finalist Willie Jones.

This seminar will consist of roundtable discussions to cover a wide range of topics dealing with caring for aging parents. There will be resource persons on hand related to caregiver burnout, legal issues, hospice care, medical care, medical equipment needs, safety and monitoring, home health care, and much more.

The Southern Hills Music in the Park Festival will be held, 12-4 p.m., Saturday, April 25 at Southern Hills Park in Shreveport. The free, family-friendly event will feature live music by Robin and The Mystics as well as Stiff Necked Fools.

At this year’s competition, over 260 middle and high school students with over 150 projects in 18 different categories competed throughout the day for prizes, as well as a chance to advance their work and represent Louisiana at the National Contest in Washington D.

The 6,000 national motorcycle tour, led by Dr. E. Bruce Heilman, chancellor of the University of Richmond, Va., will make a stop in Shreveport on Monday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion’s Lowe- McFarlane Post Number 14, located at 5315 South Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport.

The event is an invitation to Wounded Warriors from the Monroe and Alexandria areas for participation in the fishing tournament; seven Wounded Warriors will participate. Children and other adults may fish from the piers but are not eligible to participate in the tournament.
