A pastor friend of mine had gone to the local cemetery in his town to conduct a graveside service. He arrived early and took a stroll to collect his thoughts. They got swiftly uncollected when he spotted a headstone which displayed the names of a couple in his church.

The drivers of the truck assumed that the engine block had already been drained, but such was not the case.

Authorities previously arrested Derrick J. Thomas, 18, of the 3200 block of Mackey Lane, who surrendered himself to Shreve port police violent crimes investigators at about 7 p.m. Saturday, shortly after investigators procured a warrant for his arrest. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of seconddegree murder.

When officers arrived at the location, a male victim reported that he had been driving northbound on Broadway near Booker T Street when a man unknown to him and for unknown reasons exited a vehicle and began firing multiple rounds at his car. The victim’s vehicle sustained damage resulting from the gunfire; however, the driver was not injured.
