Last Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 24 and 25, the Caddo Sheriff’s Youth Services Division checked 28 businesses for compliance with state laws and parish ordinances. Four clerks were issued summonses for the unlawful sale of alcohol to persons under 21.
Bossier sheriff’s deputies rescued a 69-year -old man Monday who was exhausted and stuck knee-deep in mud at Cypress Lake near the Highway 162 boat launch after he swam a few hundred yards in an unsuccessful attempt to retrieve the wayward boat he had just launched.

Mayor Cedric Glover Wednesday submitted a balanced $481.2 million operating budget for 2015, an increase of 3.2 percent over the 2014 budget with much of the increase primarily due to increased contributions in employee health insurance and retirement benefits.

The investigation into last week's crash on the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge indicates that the collision caused the victim, 23-year old Kevin Deleon, to fall off the bridge and that he did not intentionally jump off the bridge to avoid the collision.
