Just after 5:30 a.m. March 2, Shreveport Police officers were called to the Texaco station located in the 5900 block of Youree Drive relative to a business burglary. When officers arrived on scene, it was apparent the burglars used a vehicle to ram the front doors of the store.

Eleven members of the Centenary community were honored at the annual ADDY Awards Gala sponsored by the American Advertising Federation of Shreveport-Bossier. Students, staff, faculty, and alumni won a total of 44 awards at the event, which honors creative excellence in advertising.

Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to bring a contribution for the chimpanzees. Among the items needed are fresh or canned fruits and vegetables, unshelled nuts, peanut butter, sugar free cereals, sugar-free gelatin and pudding mixes, pretzels, sugar free juice, and seeds or starter plant donations for Chimp Haven’s vegetable gardens.

9/27/83, of 4211 Lakeshore Drive, Shreveport, La., was arrested by Officer Kendrick on a charge of domestic abuse battery. The suspect and his wife had a disagreement about another female. The suspect grabbed the victim by her hair and pushed her with his palm in her face, while small children were in the residence.
