Carrie Walker Poole had done everything she could to get away from her estranged husband. She had just moved into an apartment on Monday of the week she was murdered. Her body was found three days later, on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2002, in Bossier City.
Darus Sutton, 26, of Chicago, Ill., was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison with 18 months of supervised release; Jamal Campbell, 24, of Maywood, Ill, was sentenced to 30 months in prison with three years of supervised release; Jeremy L. Coleman, 25, of Harvey, Ill.

Detectives with the BCPD’s Violent Crimes Unit have arrested Sharnise Leshay Reed, 19, of Bossier City for attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery. Detectives have also secured an arrest warrant for Kierra Diamond Ball, 17, of Bossier City charging her with attempted first-degree murder.
Carlos Franklin, 36, was indicted on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the April 22 shooting of Gina Foster in west Shreveport and on a charge of attempted second-degree murder in connection with the shooting that same day of Foster’s grandson, Syborio Foster.
Mary Jean McBroome, 60, of the 2500 block of Kristiansand Court in Shreveport, was found deceased in her vehicle around 5:30 p.m. June 16 on an oilfield road off Keithville-Keatchie Road. Workers in the area said they saw the vehicle around noontime, but it wasn't until later in the day that they realized McBroome was inside.
Before the impound, officers conducted an inventory of the contents of the vehicle. Officers found five steaks vacuum-sealed in a bag. The steaks belonged to I-HOP restaurant, where Price was employed. Price advised officers that he purchased the steaks.
Keyoka Jynes, 36, of Alexandria, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell to one count of theft of government property. According to the guilty plea, Jynes stole $36,442 of supplemental Social Security income benefits from April 2008 until December 2013.
