Back on May 1, Thomas Bartle, 67, of Shreveport, turned himself into authorities for taking thousands in payment from a Benton church for merchandise he never delivered and services he never performed.
A local attorney has once again won an appeal in the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal, concerning a nine-year legal battle over a previous home he owned in South Shreveport; however, that same court has denied his request for over $200,000 in attorney fees for representing the case himself.
Robert Bond, who is accused of murdering his wife, a former Bossier Parish Schools teacher in November, was able to cut a deal with Bossier prosecutors through his attorney, Randall Fish, and entered a plea of guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter this week.

Documents filed in Bossier District Court by Country Place Day Care Inc. show that Theresa Barnett was fired from the daycare on Jan. 7. The Louisiana Workforce Commission determined that Barnett was discharged for misconduct connected with her employment and assessed a disqualification for benefits.

The officer made contact with her at the room and subsequently took her into custody. While she was being arrested, officers found her to be in possession of suspected marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia, including a pipe with suspected marijuana residue in it.
