Police seek suspects in U-Haul robbery

Shreveport Police Department

Shreveport police investigators need the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects responsible for the daylight robbery of a local business.

Last Friday, June 21, at about 6 p.m., the suspects entered the U- Haul store in the 1600 block of North Hearne Avenue, where suspect number one bulled a silver and black handgun from his waistband, pointed it at the two employees and demanded money.

Suspect number two, the shorter of the two, ran behind the counter and emptied the cash drawer. Both suspects then grabbed an iPhone and an iPad from the counter before fleeing across the street toward Villa Norte Apartments.

Suspect number one is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black visor hat and black bandana over the face, armed with a silver and black semi-automatic handgun. Suspect number two is a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds, wearing a multicolored cloth over the face and a green and white hat.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $400 reward for information leading to the identity and arrest of one or both suspects. Call 673- 7373.

Here’s an interesting thought. Why is it that Louisiana and neighboring state Mississippi are always on the bottom of every national ranking involving virtually every aspect of a state’s quality of life? Yet casino gambling is widespread throughout both states at a level not found any place else in America outside of Las Vegas.
