DeSoto Parish Crime Stoppers Felon of the Week Program is asking for the public’s help in locating/identifying suspect(s) wanted from the DeSoto Parish area.

Clarence D. Bentson, W/M, 64, of 147 Creek Drive, Mansfield, La., is wanted for issuing worthless checks over $2,000.

Ashley P. Palmer, B/F, 30, of 583 Middle Creek, Many, La., is wanted for probation violation.

Akeem Taylor, B/M, 28, of 8568 State HWY. 87 S. Shelbyville, Texas is wanted for probation violation.

Antonio D. Freeman, B/M, 31, of 292 Farris Lane, Frierson, La., is wanted for probation violation.

Jamie T. Brown, W/F, 37, of 4152 HWY 191, Mansfield, La., is wanted for issuing worthless checks over $600.

Danny G. Mingo, B/M, 56, of 3821 Mayfield St., Shreveport, La., is wanted for probation violation.

Amanda R. Strey, W/F, 28, of 28 Chevalier Road, Forest Hill, La., is wanted for probation violation.

Jasper A. Wilson, W/M, 26, of 12634 John Gin Road, Keithville, La., is wanted for probation violation.

Desoto Parish Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to 1000.00$ for information that results in the suspects arrest, anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers line at 1-800-505-STOP (7867) all calls are confidential or contact the Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Office at (318)872-3956, Sgt. Chato Atkins.

Caddo’s highest population estimate was 257,354 on July 1, 2013. This number decreased by almost 11,000 in the next four years. The population in Bossier Parish increased by 10,000 from July 1, 2010, to July 1, 2017. In that eight-year interval, DeSoto’s population gradually increased each year.

My dad was a star forward playing both junior college and AAU basketball. I had the honor of being Coach Dean Smith’s first recruit at the University of North Carolina back in 1968. I was a spectator in the Louisiana Superdome when the Tar Heels won two national championships.
