road closed

Beginning Monday, July 8, 2013, Wemple Road between Old Brownlee Road and Airline Drive will undergo extensive construction, which is necessary to improve the roadway and drainage to this area.  This construction will be accomplished in three phases and will take approximately 150 days to complete.

First phase, 7/08/13 - 8/26/13, will require closing the outside southbound lane of Airline Drive along with the intersection of Wemple Road at Airline Drive.  All access points to the Exxon station will be open.  Access to Bossier Federal Credit Union and The Reserve at Bossier City Apartments will be from the west on Wemple Road only.

Second phase, 8/27/13 - 10/15/13, will begin with the reopening of the outside southbound lane of Airline Drive in front of the Exxon station.  The intersection of Wemple Road at Airline Drive will remain closed.  A short section of Wemple Road will be reconstructed.  The Wemple Road access points to the Exxon station and the Bossier Federal Credit Union will be closed.  Access to these businesses will be from Airline Drive only.

Third phase, 10/15/13- 12/04/13, consists of closing and reconstructing the remaining portion of Wemple Road.  The Wemple Road and Airline Drive intersection will be opened as well as all access points for the Exxon station and Bossier Federal Credit Union.  Access to The Reserve at Bossier City Apartments will be from Airline Drive only due to Wemple Road being closed just past the intersection.

My dad was a star forward playing both junior college and AAU basketball. I had the honor of being Coach Dean Smith’s first recruit at the University of North Carolina back in 1968. I was a spectator in the Louisiana Superdome when the Tar Heels won two national championships.
