Sign Up Saturday 2013 this weekend

Sign Up Saturday, an annual youth sports, health and wellness expo, will take place this Saturday, July 20, at the bossier Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, SportsCare USA, the city of Bossier City, the Bossier City Parks and Recreation Department, Bossier Healthcare Foundation, Bossier Federal Credit Union and Specialists Health System.

Admission is free. Children and their parents are invited to attend and take advantage of a variety of activities designed to promote active lifestyles and better health practices for children from more than 40 area agencies and businesses.

The event presents a one-stop stop for families to meet directors from multiple physically active programs in the area and make informed decisions about what activities are best for their family.

Sign Up Saturday will also feature: * Sign up for Bossier Parks and Recreation youth football, soccer and basketball leagues; birth certificates are required. This will be the last day to sign up for this year’s youth football and fall soccer seasons.

* Sign up for other sports leagues, camps and activities.

* Experience the Body Walk, an enclosed walk-through exhibit representing the human body.

* Free children’s health screenings. * Free immunizations with Shots for Tots. * Free games, activities, raffles and giveaways.
