Police investigating triple homicide

Family issues plea to public to help investigators

Inquisitor News

The family of the victims of a vicious triple homicide last week in Shreveport’s Mooretown neighborhood is asking for the public to share any information about the crime that might help investigators locate the person or persons responsible.

“The homicides took the lives of my kids’ mother and grandmother,” said Stephen Ford, speaking on behalf of the family. “Their mother and grandmother were the closest people in their lives.

“If you have any information that will bring my kids some closure to this — no, they can’t have their grandmother and their mother anymore, but we can’t have justice without the help of the public. Please call the police.”

In a low, subdued voice, Ford’s son, 19- year-old Stephen Ford Jr., said, “I just really want to say that whoever did this, you couldn’t have known my mother and my grandmother because they would never have harmed anyone and never have harmed anyone. It just wasn’t right. And just like my Dad just said, anyone that has any information, please, please contact the police. I want to know why. I want to know why.”

Lillie Fingal, the children’s stepmother, reiterated the family’s plea: “If anyone has any information, we need closure for our family and for these babies because they are hurting right now. We all are, and that’s the only thing that’s going to try to get us ... at least help us to get through this.”

Asked how confident they are that someone knows something, Ford Jr. replied, “Very confident. Positive. Somebody has to know. And even if the person who did this is watching, I really want you to just come forward, please, because you really didn’t have to do this, not to them.”

“We wanted to help the family with a plea to hopefully get the public’s involvement and to generate any information through the Crime Stoppers network of the suspect or suspects responsible for this latest homicide,” said Jim Taliaferro, coordinator for Crime Stoppers.

Detectives are still investigating the violent deaths of three people at a home in the 4900 block of Gloria Drive. Last Thursday, officers discovered the bodies of 78-year-old Irene Ellison, 41-year-old Carise Ellison and 58-year -old Brian Wilson inside the residence.

Taliaferro and the family are urging anyone with any information regarding the person or persons responsible for these crimes to call the Shreveport Police Department at 673- 6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
