Police are on the hunt for two men accused of committing an armed robbery of an individual earlier this month.

Back on July 2, 2013, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 2500 block of Mabel Street relative to a reported armed robbery in which a female victim reported to authorities she was accosted by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.  The victim advised she was walking in the 2500 block of Mabel Street  and began speaking with one of the suspects when a second suspect approached them.  The victim informed police that the one of the men punched her in the face knocking her to the ground.  The victim, upon being knocked to the ground was reportedly physically assaulted and kicked repeatedly while the other suspect allegedly robbed her of an unknown amount of cash.  Both men reportedly fled the scene on foot.  The victim, while shaken, was not seriously injured.

Shreveport Police Robbery detectives have since been able to gather information linking 18 year old Quincy Randle and 20 year old Timothy Jackson, both of Shreveport to the crime.  Authorities have secured warrants for the arrest of both men, who are now being sought on armed robbery charges.  Bond has been set at $250,000.00 for Randle and $500,000.00 for Jackson.  Police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of either Timothy Jackson or Quincy Randall to contact Caddo Crimestoppers immediately at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org. Crimestoppers is offering a $500.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

Here’s an interesting thought. Why is it that Louisiana and neighboring state Mississippi are always on the bottom of every national ranking involving virtually every aspect of a state’s quality of life? Yet casino gambling is widespread throughout both states at a level not found any place else in America outside of Las Vegas.

On April 28, citizens of Shreveport face a choice: Fund basic city services or plunge the city into fiscal chaos. It would have been inconceivable 20 years ago that routine tax renewals to fund the fire and police departments and other basic city services would not have the collective support of the city’s business, civic and political leadership.
