Ongoing: “Autographing History,” an exhibit of 54 documents, letters and receipts bearing the signatures of famous historical figures including presidents George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, and many more. The collection on loan from Gloria B. Meyer of Shreveport and the late Charlton E. Meyer Jr. is on display at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, 3015 Greenwood Road. Ongoing: Yogie & Friends Exotic Cat Sanctuary, Louisiana’s only rescue for abused, neglected and unwanted large cats is open to the public on Saturdays only from noon to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Every third Saturday of the month: Southern Christian Writer’s Club, meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Calvary Abundant Life Tabernacle, corner of Bethel Road and Highway 84 East in Logansport, La. Aug. 23: Moonlight in the Gardens featuring Lunte/Seiler Duo, Piano and Flute, The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens August Moonlight in the Gardens features the popular Lunte/Seiler Duo, University of Louisiana Monroe professors Rick Seiler (piano) and Sandra Lunte (flute), in the Fountain Room of the historic Biedenharn Home, at the corner of Riverside and Forsythe in Monroe. The concert begins at 7:30, gates are open at 7 p.m. and the gates will remain open for the public until 10 p.m. Cost is $5 per person.

Sept. 6-7: 27th Annual Centenary Book Bazaar. Sept. 13-14: The 7th Annual Twin City Bomber Bash, presented by Goad’s Traditional Barber Shop, will be held at Rodeway Inn, 3033 Hilton Drive in Bossier City. Sept. 21: Chimpanzee Discovery Day: African Peace Festival. Free and open to the public. Chimpanzee Discovery Day is an entertaining and educational event for the entire family. Visitors to Chimp Haven will have the chance to observe chimpanzees in their natural, forested habitats, talk to staff about their personalities and natural behavior, and discover the wonders on the nature trail.

The governor is hollering that the financial sky is falling and the state is in dire fiscal straights. Legislators protest that their hands are tied by too many constitutional dedications.

It was much to my amazement that literally hundreds of Ukrainian girls were actually interested in me. Throughout each day, I would receive e-mails from the agency, with each e-mail sending a message from a woman interested in dating me.
