7th Annual Twin City Bomber Bash in Bossier City to feature ‘Rat Rods,’ custom cars and bikes

Event will also include the annual Miss Bomber Bash Pageant, a drivein movie and more

The 7th Annual Twin City Bomber Bash, presented by Goad’s Traditional Barber Shop, will be held Sept. 13-14 at Rodeway Inn, 3033 Hilton Drive in Bossier City.

The event will feature pre-1969 traditional hot rods as well as “rat rods,” custom vehicles, bikes and more. In addition to the car show, Twin City Bomber Bash festivities will include the annual Miss Bomber Bash Pageant, a swap meet, live music and a drive-in style screening of the 1983 horror thriller “Christine.”

Rhoda Brown’s Smokin’ Fatties, an awardwinning barbecue team that has competed on TLC’s hit reality television show “BBQ Pitmasters,” will be selling barbecue at the event on Saturday.

Rebel Rodz magazine recently included the Twin City Bomber Bash in their 2013 “Top 10 Events” list.

Categories in which cars and trucks will compete include Hottest Rod, Mild Kustom, Koolest Kustom and Nastiest Rat Rod. Categories in which bikes will compete include Traditional Chopper, Traditional Bobber and Punk Bike. Bike and car registration is $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event.

“The people who attend this show have become like Bomber Bash family to us,” said Chris Goad, event organizer. “We get a lot of vehicles from clubs located in Arkansas, Texas, southern Louisiana and even Florida.”

The drive-in presentation of “Christine” will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13. The swap meet, live music and car show will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, followed by the Miss Bomber Bash Pageant at 6 p.m.

The Rodeway Inn has made a special, discounted room rate available for Twin City Bomber Bash participants and guests. To reserve a room at the discounted rate, contact Rodeway Inn at (318) 747-2400 and use the promo code “Bomber Bash.”
