Webster juror appointed to Sparta Groundwater Conservation District

On Monday, Gov. Bobby Jindal announced reappointments to the Sparta Groundwater Conservation District.

Among the reappointments was Steve Lemmons of Dubberly. Lemmons is a member of the Webster Parish Police Jury. He will be reappointed to served as a nominee of the Webster Parish Police Jury, as required by law.

Dan Morgan of Choudrant and Jackie Perritt of Famerville were the other two appointments.

The Sparta Groundwater Conservation District serves to study and survey the groundwater resources in the district regarding issues such as conservation, land surface subsidence, and groundwater quality degradation. The board advises the commissioner of conservation based on their findings.

Why is it that Louisiana and neighboring state Mississippi are always on the bottom of every national ranking involving virtually every aspect of a state’s quality of life?
