LEGO Castle Adventure opening Oct. 5 at Sci-Port

Join Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center for the opening of the LEGO Castle Adventure on Saturday, Oct. 5.

In this exhibition, children and families are transported to a LEGO kingdom where they, too, can become master castle builders, using one of the greatest building materials of all time: LEGO bricks.

LEGO Castle Adventure will remain open through Jan. 12.

Visitors will be immersed in castle life through experiences designed specifically for children and families. Sit in their majesties’ thrones and view the royal family’s portrait and LEGO suit of armor.

Even the youngest of builders will enjoy putting together their own LEGO castle creation. LEGO models of real-world castles Blarney, Arundel and Neuschwanstein offer insights about hos castles were planned and built.

Tour the castle grounds and learn about day-to-day castle life. Dress up as royalty, build a LEGO topiary or climb a lookout tower.

Sci-Port is located at 820 Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport. For more information, visit www.sciport.org.

My dad was a star forward playing both junior college and AAU basketball. I had the honor of being Coach Dean Smith’s first recruit at the University of North Carolina back in 1968. I was a spectator in the Louisiana Superdome when the Tar Heels won two national championships.
