SHREVEPORT – LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency) is excited to host their second DONATE LIFE HOPE RUN which includes a 5k run along with a 1 mile walk on Sunday, October 13, 2013. This year our title sponsors are Landers Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler, First Guaranty Bank, Cooper Design Build, and Scott Moran. The race will take place along the beautiful Red River in Downtown Shreveport beginning at the Stoner Boat Launch at Clyde Fant Parkway. The 1 mile walk will begin at 3:30PM and the 5k will start at 4:00PM. Awards will be given to overall male and female winners in 5 different age categories plus there will be plenty of prizes given away during a raffle drawing at the end of the race. Individual participants and teams can register online at www.lopa.org or www.sportspectrumusa.com. The pre-registration fee is only $30 and on-site registration will be $35. Raffle tickets are only $10 each. Prizes include autographed LSU memorabilia from Shaquille O’Neal, Football and Baseball head coaches, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, and gift certificates to several area fine restaurants.

This event is to honor and celebrate our Donate Life Heroes who have given the “gift of life” through organ and tissue donation. One organ donor can save the lives of up to 9 people who are waiting on a life-saving organ transplant. In the US, we have over 180,000 patients waiting for a second chance at life and we desperately need to raise awareness for more people to become organ donors. Our mission at LOPA is simple – help save lives through organ and tissue donation. Register today to become an organ donor at www.donatelifeLA.org and help support our donor families and transplant recipients by registering for our Donate Life Hope Run. For more information, visit www.lopa.org.

LOPA representatives are available for media interviews and to answer any questions regarding organ and tissue donation. If you are interested in an interview or would like to include the Donate Life Hope Run in your news coverage, please contact Sheron Raymond, sraymond@lopa.org or call 318.402.9715. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to help raise donor awareness throughout the Ark-La-Tex.

Initially, his law enforcement background will be questioned by many rank and file at the Shreveport Police Department (SPD). Reportedly, his service as public information officer and then head of the SPD Crime Stoppers program did not entail any supervisory or investigative activities.

One million dollars down the drain to pay for a special session of the Louisiana legislature. And all for naught. The governor is hollering that the financial sky is falling and the state is in dire fiscal straights. Legislators protest that their hands are tied by too many constitutional dedications.

It was much to my amazement that literally hundreds of Ukrainian girls were actually interested in me. Throughout each day, I would receive e-mails from the agency, with each e-mail sending a message from a woman interested in dating me.
