Man shot following alleged struggle over gun

A man is recovering and a suspect is being sought in connection with an overnight shooting in Shreveport.
Just before 7:00 p.m. on October 20, 2013,
Shreveport Police responded to University Medical
Center relative to a shooting. Upon the arrival of officers, it was
learned 20 year old Deonza McClinton had been transported to the hospital's
emergency room by private auto, after suffering a gunshot wound to the
thigh. McClinton was treated for his injuries and is expected to
survive.
Authorities believe the incident began when an
alleged fight between McClinton and another man known to
him, erupted near the intersection of Midway Street and Joplin
Avenue. It was reported the men struggled over a gun, during which time
the weapon discharged, striking McClinton. Shreveport Police Violent
Crimes detectives responded to the scene and immediately initiated and
investigation. At current, authorities are working to gather additional
information related to the shooting and are confident the arrest of a suspect is
