Caddo Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night at the Family Dollar in north Shreveport.

Employees were closing the business at 4915 North Market around 10 p.m. when a man came inside, produced a handgun, and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he left running down McDaniel Street. There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male of average height and weight. He was wearing a dark hoodie with a bandana covering his face and socks on his hands.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Detective Andy Scoggins at 675-2170 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.

One million dollars down the drain to pay for a special session of the Louisiana legislature. And all for naught. The governor is hollering that the financial sky is falling and the state is in dire fiscal straights. Legislators protest that their hands are tied by too many constitutional dedications.
