Bossier City police issue citations at checkpoint

The Bossier City Police Department conducted a safety checkpoint in the 1400 block of Swan Lake Road Tuesday as part of a continuing seat belt enforcement effort sponsored by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.

From 12-4 p.m., officers checked a total of 278 vehicles and issued 12 citations for seat belt violations and one citation to a motorist who did not have children secured in safety restraints.

An additional 12 citations were written for other offenses, such as improper window tinting, no driver’s license and expired MVI.
