DARE graduations scheduled

Caddo Parish fifth-graders at six local schools will celebrate their successful completion of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program with graduation ceremonies next week.

Caddo deputies have spent the past 17 weeks teaching the DARE curriculum at Caddo Parish schools. The program teaches youngsters how to build self-esteem, learn how to deal effectively with unwanted peer pressure, and Ceremonies are scheduled as Blanchard Elementary; Dec. 9, 1 p.m., St. John; Dec. 10, 1 p.m., 12:30 p.m., Keithville Elementary; Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator will be find healthy alternatives to drugs, alcohol, violence and gangs. follows: Dec. 9, 8:30 p.m., Vivian Elementary; Dec. 11, Dec. 12, 1 p.m., Timmons Elementary; and Dec. 13, 12:45 p.m., Walnut Hill Elementary. the guest speaker at the Blanchard Elementary and St. John ceremonies.
