Man wanted for attempted murder surrenders

A man wanted on a charge of attempted murder in connection with an incident at a local apartment complex.

Anthony Joeva Young turned himself in to detectives at Bossier City Po lice Headquarters Wednesday evening.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit had sought Young, 27, of Bossier City for allegedly firing multiple gunshots at another man just before noon on Jan. 6 on the grounds of the Cloverdale Plaza Apartments in the 2200 block of Shed Road.

Young fled the scene in the vehicle, and his intended victim was not wounded.

Young was booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Initially, his law enforcement background will be questioned by many rank and file at the Shreveport Police Department (SPD). Reportedly, his service as public information officer and then head of the SPD Crime Stoppers program did not entail any supervisory or investigative activities.
