Ongoing: “Autographing History,” an exhibit of 54 documents, letters and receipts bearing the signatures of famous historical figures including presidents George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, and many more. The collection on loan from Gloria B. Meyer of Shreveport and the late Charlton E. Meyer Jr. is on display at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, 3015 Greenwood Road.

Ongoing: Yogie & Friends Exotic Cat Sanctuary, Louisiana’s only rescue for abused, neglected and unwanted large cats is open to the public on Saturdays only from noon to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Each Tuesday from March 11- April 29: Grief Support Groups Spring Session, A Place That Warms the Heart is an organization that provides grief support services in a caring and compassionate environment to allow each individual or family member grieve in his or her own way. Different groups meet weekly: children’s group, teen group, significant other group, parent’s group and early infant loss group. Every third Saturday of the month: Southern Christian Writer’s Club, meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Calvary Abundant Life Tabernacle, corner of Bethel Road and Highway 84 East in Logansport, La. Its mission is to help and encourage writers share their love of Jesus with others through publishing. Writers in both religious and secular writing are welcome. Membership is $20 per year. Feb. 22: Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras Parade XXIII: “Fables, Folklore and Fairy Tales.” The Mardi Gras season kicks off with the first parade of the year, beginning downtown on Clyde Fant Parkway at 4:30 p.m.

Feb. 28: Walk for Humanity, Join North Louisiana to help end world poverty and suffering. Registration: $20 by Feb. 28, $25 by April 3, $30 April 4-11 and $35 race day; students $15, $10 children age 12 and under. March 1: Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Parade XXV: “Throw Me a Memory, Mister.” Celebrating its 25th year, the parade features decorative floats, bands, cups and more than four million beads. The parade starts at Clyde Fant Parkway and ends on Preston Street.
