Neighborhood networking event set

The Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Board will host its annual Neighborhood Networking event from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Riverview Hall, located at 600 Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport.

The theme for this year’s event is “Neighborhood of Olym pians.”

The annual endeavor serves to help promote collaborations between the city of Shreveport’s government entities, the local business sector and the citizens of the community at large.

In addition to the numerous networking opportunities, participation in the event is encouraged to develop and strengthen partnerships among local business owners.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.

Every five years, several ad valorem property taxes are placed before the citizens for renewals that provide basic city services and salaries/ benefits for our first responders and other city employees. The last time this occurred was 2013. In 2017 the taxes expired, and we made the decision to only go out for the taxes when necessary, and not before.
