Bidder walks away with car, $500 cash

A local winning bidder at Saturday’s auction walked away with $500 in cold, hard cash!

Crystal Marshall of Bossier City was the winning bidder called at the end of the Lawler Auction Vehicle, Equipment and Open Consignment Sale on March 1.

All bidders who purchase a vehicle at the monthly public auctions have their numbers placed into a drawing for $500. The bidder must be present at the end of the auction when their number is called. Every vehicle purchased gives the bidder a chance at winning.

“People attending the auctions, especially the newer bidders, get excited about the drawing,” said David Doiron, the project manager for Lawler Auction Company.

Marshall, who is a returning customer to Lawler Auctions, stated she prefers buying her vehicles at auction rather than off the lot and toting a note.

“I found out about Lawler Auctions several years ago online,” Marshall said. “This is the second car I have purchased here.

“I definitely appreciate the pleasant staff, and they were very helpful during the preview on Friday and the auction on Saturday,” Marshall added.

When asked what Marshall did with her winnings on Tuesday, she informed that she had given all the money away.

“I felt that God has blessed me, and He showed me who to give the money to, and I passed the blessing on to others.”

Some bidders at Saturday’s auction also walked away Gambino King Cakes. After the initial drawing for the $500, 20 more numbers were called for the king cakes.

Ronnie Hilliard of Shreveport was the winner of three king cakes after purchasing three vehicles at the auction.

“I never win anything!” exclaimed Hilliard. “It must have been my lucky day.”

Hilliard was excited to win the king cakes after saying he had never eaten one before.

Lawler Auction Company will hold its next monthly sale on April 5 at the Lawler Auction Facility at 7781 Hwy. 1 North in Shreveport. The public is invited to check out the auction catalog that contained photos, lists, terms and other valu able information of the firm’s Web site at www.lawlerauction. com, where assets are added as they arrive at the facility to be consigned.
