Intoxicated man found with narcotics

A suspect found to be under the influence of alcohol was also found to be in possession of a quantity of narcotics.

Bossier City police responded to a complaint Saturday about a person believed to be intoxicated at the Brookshire’s grocery store in the 4900 block of Barksdale Boulevard.

Officers made contact with the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Charles Joseph Laurents of 2101 Highland Ave. in Shreveport, while he was leaning against his pickup truck in the parking lot.

Officers found him to be exhibiting signs of intoxication and took him into custody.

Officers also found Laurents to be in possession of 44 Xanax pills and five and a half Methadone pills for which he had no prescription.

Laurents was arrested and booked on charges of possession of schedule IV drugs with intent to distribute, possession of schedule II drugs and disturbing the peace by drunkenness.
