Financial Crimes Task Force warns of scam

The Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force has received complaints from residents regarding phone scams involving local banks.

Victims are receiving telephone calls with a recorded message indicating their debit card is no longer valid. The message continues to requires additional account information.

If you receive such a call, it is recommended that you disconnect immediately and provide no information. If you have provided information, contact your financial institution immediately.

Caddo’s highest population estimate was 257,354 on July 1, 2013. This number decreased by almost 11,000 in the next four years. The population in Bossier Parish increased by 10,000 from July 1, 2010, to July 1, 2017. In that eight-year interval, DeSoto’s population gradually increased each year.
