Ongoing: “Autographing History,” an exhibit of 54 documents, letters and receipts bearing the signatures of famous historical figures including presidents George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, Benja min

Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, and many more. The collection on loan from Gloria B. Meyer of Shreveport and the late Charlton E. Meyer Jr. is on display at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, 3015 Greenwood Road.

Ongoing: Yogie & Friends Exotic Cat Sanctuary, Louisiana’s only rescue for abused, neglected and unwanted large cats is open to the public on Saturdays only from noon to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Every third Saturday of the month: Southern Christian Writer’s Club, meets from 4:30-6:30

p.m. at the Calvary Abundant Life Tabernacle, corner of Bethel Road and Highway 84 East in Logansport, La. Its mission is to help and encourage writers share their love of Jesus with others through publishing. Writers in both religious and secular writing are welcome. Membership is $20 per year. Every Sunday through July 27: Benton Farmer’s Market, a Sunday-only outdoor market held at 495 Simpson Street in downtown Benton, will open for its inaugural season, 12:30-5 p.m., on Sunday, June 1. The market will be held each Sunday afternoon though July 27. Benton Farmer’s Market is located off Hwy. 3 (Benton Road) in downtown Benton.

May 31: B.A.C. May Day Family Festival, across from their building at 630 Barksdale Blvd. This exciting family fun packed afternoon will start at 3 p.m. and continue into the night with a screening of Robots at dusk courtesy of the Robinson Film Center. Various organizations will be on site with free kids activities and food trucks will be available to satisfy tour hunger pains. In addition, BAC will be hold a ribbon cutting of their newly renovated Metal Art Zoo.
