Annual Christmas on Caddo Beauty Pageant

Christmas on Caddo Fireworks Festival Beauty Pageant will begin 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Singing Pines Recreational Complex in Hosston, La., Girls ages zero-19, will compete in 13 separate divisions, including Baby Miss, Little Miss, Teen Miss, Jr. Teen Princess, Teen Princess, and more! Deadline for entry is on Friday, July 18.

The contestants who compete in the Teen Princess divisions range from ages 11-19 and are competing for the title of Pre- Teen Princess, Jr. Teen Princess or Teen Princess. The winners of all three divisions will win paid entry to the 2015 Miss Teen Princess Louisiana Pageant, among various other prizes. Interviews will be held before the pageant begins. Contestants mist compete in interview and evening wear. Registration fee for this division is $60.

Kellie Morris, pageant director for the Christmas on Caddo Fireworks Festival Beauty Pageant, says, “The annual pageant used to be held in the fall, but due to school schedules and other back to school activities, we decided that hosting the pageant in the summer would be more convenient for busy families.”

The other pageant divisions range from ages zero-19 and offer girls the opportunity to compete in 10 separate categories depending on their age. Contestants zero-10 will compete in Sunday best or a Christmas dress, while ages 11 and up are required to compete in evening gowns. Registration fee for this division is $45.

The winner of each of the 13 divisions will ride in the Country Christmas parade on Dec, 6 in Vivian, La., and be featured at the 2014 Christmas on Caddo Fireworks Festival in Oil City, La., later that evening.

All entry forms, photogenic photos and payment must be received by noon on Tuesday, July 22. A late fee of $20 will be added to all entry forms turned in after the July 18 deadline.

Every five years, several ad valorem property taxes are placed before the citizens for renewals that provide basic city services and salaries/ benefits for our first responders and other city employees. The last time this occurred was 2013. In 2017 the taxes expired, and we made the decision to only go out for the taxes when necessary, and not before.
