Bossier Little League to hold ‘Meet and Greet’

Bossier Little League is hosting an event "Meet the Bossier Little League All-Stars and Meet the Local Candidates" at Silver Star Restaurant - The Stage, in Bossier City on July 24, 2014, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Silver Star Restaurant - The Stage, is located at 1201 Dixie Overland Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana 71111. It is right off of East Texas Street and near Louisiana Downs Racetrack.

The Bossier Little League All-Stars team had another wildly successful run through the local Louisiana District 4 tournaments and have 8 teams eligible to play at the State Tourna mentslevel.

The teams will be announced on stage at the scheduled event and sign baseballs and softballs for cash donations to the teams to help them defray travel and hotel expenses as they advance.

There will also be a combined event with a "Meet the Candidates" event which will allow all local political candidates to introduce themselves on stage and have a chance to meet the players and their parents, family, and friends, as well as other interested attendees.

The event is open to the public.

Flurry’s second objection to the ordinance is the requirement that permit application for cell towers must be reviewed by the city’s independent expert consultant. The city has been working with a national consultant who has a track record of requiring unreasonable, expensive requirements for cell tower installations.

Every five years, several ad valorem property taxes are placed before the citizens for renewals that provide basic city services and salaries/ benefits for our first responders and other city employees. The last time this occurred was 2013. In 2017 the taxes expired, and we made the decision to only go out for the taxes when necessary, and not before.
