Man faces charges in robbery

A local man accused of robbery is jailed following his arrest by Shreveport police officers Monday evening.

Back on June 20, Shreveport police patrol officers were called to a home located in the 600 block of West 64th Street in reference to an assault and battery.

When officers investigated the incident, it was gathered that the suspect, 55-yearold Calvin Youngblood, reportedly committed a battery on the person of the victim and forcibly took the victim’s car keys before fleeing the scene.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, Youngblood was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in connection with the alleged robbery.

Since his arrest, Youngblood, who now faces a charge of simple robbery, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Bond in the matter has been set at $50,000.
