DWI Checkpoint planned in Bossier Parish

In an effort to combat impaired driving in our area, Louisiana State Police Troop G plans to conduct a DWI checkpoint on Friday, March 15, 2013, from approximately 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location in Bossier Parish.  Our mission will be to find and remove impaired drivers from the road before they can cause injury or death to themselves or others.

Last year, Troop G investigated 27 fatal crashes. Of those 27 crashes, 6 (22%) involved impaired drivers (alcohol and/or drugs).  Motorists are asked to remember to designate a sober driver before traveling to any place where alcohol will be consumed.  Drive sober or get pulled over.

To report impaired drivers, motorists are encouraged to dial *LSP (*577) from their cellular phone or to contact their local law enforcement agency.

Support for this checkpoint is provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.

Initially, his law enforcement background will be questioned by many rank and file at the Shreveport Police Department (SPD). Reportedly, his service as public information officer and then head of the SPD Crime Stoppers program did not entail any supervisory or investigative activities.

One million dollars down the drain to pay for a special session of the Louisiana legislature. And all for naught. The governor is hollering that the financial sky is falling and the state is in dire fiscal straights. Legislators protest that their hands are tied by too many constitutional dedications.

It was much to my amazement that literally hundreds of Ukrainian girls were actually interested in me. Throughout each day, I would receive e-mails from the agency, with each e-mail sending a message from a woman interested in dating me.
