Grant County Sheriffs Office seeking information on homicide

Investigators with the Grant County Sheriffs Dept. and the Arkansas State Police are currently investigating a homicide that occurred in Grant County on the evening of Friday, February 3.

The body of forty-six year old Danny Joe Stivers was found by firefighters inside his burning residence, approximately ten miles south of Sheridan, on Highway 167 South. Evidence recovered at the scene, information obtained by investigators, as well as the findings of the state medical examiner, have led to the conclusion that Mr. Stivers was the victim of foul play. It is their belief that the murder of Stivers was not random, nor does the motive appear to have been robbery.

They do have persons of interest in this case, but are not yet prepared to name any suspects. They are asking the public for help in this investigation, and encourage anyone with information concerning this crime to contact our office by calling 870-942-210 I.

Here’s an interesting thought. Why is it that Louisiana and neighboring state Mississippi are always on the bottom of every national ranking involving virtually every aspect of a state’s quality of life? Yet casino gambling is widespread throughout both states at a level not found any place else in America outside of Las Vegas.
