On Dec. 16, agents with the Shreveport Police Department’s vice unit launched an investigation into allegations that an attorney with the Shreveport City Court used his position as a prosecutor to influence the disposition of a City Court case in exchange for sex.
Upon further investigation, detectives discovered Shaw and his girlfriend, identified as 28-year-old Debra Barnes, were apparently involved in an argument over photographs Barnes had discovered on his cell phone..
Last Friday, Dec. 22, 55-year-old Larry D. Nolen of 211 Jordan St. was allegedly seen by the store clerk taking Snickers candy bars off the shelf at the Circle K at 809 Olive St. and placing them into his gray sweatshirt in an attempt to conceal them so he would not have to pay for them.
The man was dressed in light-colored clothing and rummaged through the business for about 26 minutes before walking off with a 42-inch television, six Interstate vehicle batteries and power tools, all with an estimated value of $1,200. He drove off around 11:22 p.
Upon contact with Hines, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath. He had slurred speech and refused to answer any questions and submit to field sobriety tests. He also refused the chemical test and was found to have a suspended license.
On Dec. 20, the Shreveport Police Department received a tip through Crime Stoppers advising that a wanted fugitive, 64-year-old Larry Foster, was at a residence on Palm Road in west Shreveport. Foster was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated battery.
