Police were called to the residence on Sunday, May 11, at about 8:15 a.m. after Beadle’s mother went to the house to check on her after not hearing from her since the Friday before, when Jacqueline took her child to her mother’s home for baby-sitting. Beadle’s mother found the two victims inside the residence.

A local attorney has once again won an appeal in the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal, concerning a nine-year legal battle over a previous home he owned in South Shreveport; however, that same court has denied his request for over $200,000 in attorney fees for representing the case himself.

Robert Bond, who is accused of murdering his wife, a former Bossier Parish Schools teacher in November, was able to cut a deal with Bossier prosecutors through his attorney, Randall Fish, and entered a plea of guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter this week.

Why is it that Louisiana and neighboring state Mississippi are always on the bottom of every national ranking involving virtually every aspect of a state’s quality of life? On April 28, citizens of Shreveport face a choice: Fund basic city services or plunge the city into fiscal chaos. It would have been inconceivable 20 years ago that routine tax renewals to fund the fire and police departments and other basic city services would not have the collective support of the city’s business, civic and political leadership.
